The article presents information on the alleged double publication as highlighted in the articles "On Two Tibetan Pictures Representing Some of the Spiritual Ancestors of the Dalai-Lama and of the Panchen Lama" and "Notes on Two Lama Paintings," by Tibetology and Buddhology scholar A. von Staël-Holstein. The explanation given by Staël-Holstein to George T. Chase, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, is discussed.
