| 摘要 | The article presents literary criticism of the book "Honglou meng" by Cao Xueqin. It discusses the role of temples and clerics in the novel. According to the author, the novel exhibits both anticlericalism and a positive outlook on religion and enlightenment. It is suggested that the novel offers scholars a glimpse at late imperial Chinese conceptions of organized religions and the relationship between religious doctrines and institutions. |
