| 摘要 | This volume is a bibliographic study of the literature central to the practice and theory of the Hevajra Tantra and the related “Path and Result” Tradition of the Sa skya School of Tibetan Buddhism. It is the third in a series of inquiries by Sobisch drawing on the trove of collected manuscripts of A mes zhabs rendered in microfilm by the Nepal‐German Manuscript Preservation Project. The book is a mine of information about how the Indic and Tibetan writings on these traditions were organized and conceptualized by Sa skya thinkers in the early second millennium. The first part deals with Hevajra literature from three sources: the curriculum set out in “Notes on How to Enter into the Writings of the Sakyapas” (a work that found its final form under A mes and that is edited and translated in an appendix to the present volume); the works mentioned in A mes' own works; and the lineages mentioned in his record of teachings received. The second part of the book analyzes the literary corpus of the Lam 'bras as found in the catalogs of its early collections of sources: the so‐called Yellow, Red, and Black Books, as well as ancillary literature mentioned in the works of A mes. This is a specialist's book, not one for a general audience; but the presentation is systematic and clear, and it will be a useful point of reference for those seeking to navigate the immense corpus of literature central to the practice of this school of Tibetan Buddhism. |
