| 摘要 | The article discusses the tsam mask-making tradition in Mongolia with the collapse of the socialist regime. It says that the tradition, related to the Buddhist ritual dance called 'chams which ended in 18th century, has been revived in the 1990s with the freedom of creed given by the government. It relates artist Gankhuyag Natsag and his colleagues who travel around the world to stage modern dances adopted from tsam. The article presents photographs depicting the procedures for creating masks. |
