| 摘要 | The writer discusses the Paramitas, which has been defined by Rev. Master Jiyu Kennett as “qualities that arise from meditation and training and are signs of enlightenment.” The Paramitas, sometimes called the Six Perfections, are spoken of as: giving or generosity; keeping the Percepts; forbearance or patience; diligence, vigor or joyful perseverance; meditation; and wisdom. The Paramitas are expressions of reality and expressions of each individual as one of the countless unique facets of universal life. They are not only the outcomes of training, but also the means for training to deepen and to connect with the truth. All the Paramitas point toward universal emptiness, that which is found in every moment of letting go of self-centerdness. The Paramitas are increasingly revealed as one dedicates oneself to Buddhist training. |
