| 摘要 | 對《西遊記》中須菩提祖師的身份和他在西天淨土佛教聖地中的位置以及他與《西遊記》主旨和結構的關系進行了深入剖析：認為須菩提祖師既不是道家，也不是如來的化身，而是佛典中記載的釋迦牟尼十大弟子之一的須菩提，他是佛門弟子中最善解空理者。作者讓須菩提祖師作為悟空的師傅，別有深意。他與悟空的另一個師傅唐僧有相繼相承的關系：須菩提祖師教給悟空72般變化和十萬八千里的筋斗雲等本領，讓他用「心」到大千世界、眾生萬象中去覺悟，而唐僧則以慈悲為懷、不忍殺生的善念去感化悟空。這就完成了作者以佛教救世的主旨。 Among the four most popular classical novels of China, A Journey to the West is the very one that bears the features of myth, metaphor and gods-and-monsters. The author had a strong desire to introduce the Buddhism to us in order to start a social-innovation in China; he created a lot of characters who were bound to believe in Buddhism in the end, which proved the power of Buddha. By introducing the religion, he had the indication that the society could be reformed by way of creating many artistic figures in the novel. Among them, there exists a figure whose name is Buddha XuPuTi. He is important and very complicated in character. If we have a thorough understanding of the original artistic creation of him and the truth-incarnation of him, we can have a real understanding of the author's original idea to compose the novel. |
