This article bases itself on the understanding that the Tibetan Temple economy should be viewed from the development of the Tibetan Area, according to which the Tibetan temple economy plays the role of pushing forward the development of Tibet. The article explores the advancing modes of the temple industry, commerce, resource development and the value trend.It also deals with the action mode of traditional economy and the passive outcome of the extinction of posterity practised by the clergymen. Through the studies of the action mode of the temple economy, the author puts forward the policy to develop the temple economy and the economy of the Tibetan area. The author ends his article by pointing out that the future development of the temple economy should be shifted from "The internal support" to "The external radiation", from "enriching the temples" to "enriching the society" and, of the number of the clergymen, from "larger but more scattered" to "smaller but more refined".
