When he launched a war against Jin Dynasty, the emperor of Yuan Dynasty met some well known Buddhist monks in the Central Plains and therefore he initiated and protected Buddhism, regarding it as a powerful tool to consolidate its rule. Later, emperors made the worship of Buddhism more prosperous, following the example of former emperors or respecting the Buddhist scripture. From then on it was quite different from the Han Dynasty. The disguised images of holy monks and the propaganda of Buddhist scripture played an important role in the music and dance in Yuan Dynasty.
