| 摘要 | The mid - 9th century large-scale suppression of Buddhism by Tibetan King Glan Dar-ma, the 42nd ruler from the Tu-bo Dynasty, finally led to revolts in which the king was assassinated and the dynasty's rule toppled. A split Tibet found itself in prolonged wars among the regional states. Hui-deni-mar-gun, an offspring of the toppled Tu-bo Dynasty, fled westward to find new opportunities into Ngari where later his sons reigned the separate kingdoms of Bu-rang, Gu-ge and Mang-yu. Son-ai, who succeeded his father Za-se-gun as King of the Gu-ge kingdom, interrupted his reign to become a Buddhist monk, assuming the clerical name Lama Ye-shes-ve. He built the grand and magnificent nTho-ling Monastery in 996, the consecration of which marked the beginning of the latter stage of Buddhism in Tibet. |
