| 摘要 | I should like to discuss two twentieth century thinkers who attempted to think transcendence in a completely nontraditional way. Those thinkers are Karl Jaspers and Nishitani Keiji of the so-called Kyoto school of philosophy. Of course, the kind of transcendence they think can't be said to be the same; but I believe there is a definite compatibility and perhaps even an affinity. What Jaspers and Nishitani have in common is that their kind of transcendence is not to be found beyond this world. We might call it provisionally a nonmetaphysical transcendence. |
