| 摘要 | It is a great pleasure for me to participate in this international conderence on Buddhism and Christianity at De Tiltenberg. I have been asked to talk about suffering in the light of our time. As you may know, suffering is the first of the Four Noble Truths, the fundamental teaching of Gautama Buddha. which goes as follow: --Existence is suffering: --the cause of suffering is craving or thirst; --by the extinction of craving, nirvana may be attained; --the means for the attainment of nirvana is practice of the Eightfold Path of right view, right intention, right speech, right conduct, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness and right concentration. |
