"Ayangbai", a statur of female genitalia in No. 8 of grottos of Shizhong Mountain of Jianchuan in Yunnan, has always had close attentions from interanal and international specialists. Some scholars think that "Ayangbai" is original worship of genitalia. Some scholars think that main statue in the cave was Kwan-yin Bodhoisattva, "Ayangbai" was newly carved and wrongly interpreted by later generations. During Nanzhao period, Azhali sect of Buddhism was popular in Dali. Then and there, factors including religious contents, historical status and folklore had profound influences to the formation of "Ayangbai".
