The aesthetic tradition of seeking "lingering charm" in poetic language cannot be separated from the influence of Buddhist linguistic perspective. As a phenomenon unique in Chinese culture, the penetration of Buddhist language into poetic language bequeaths great aesthetic significance to Chinese Buddhist language, the Zen language in particular, and a unique way of expression is formed which is mainly shown in poetic verse and "Gong An". Traditional poetic theory, like "lingering charm", can be regarded as the theoretical condensation of the same way of expression between poetry and Buddhism.
