| 摘要 | 鑑於臨終關懷相關議題的盛行，生死學論述更如雨後春筍，死亡此禁忌，正被人類一步一步地探究其境，大多關注焦點仍停留在對瀕死狀態或瀕死者的了解，至於在接觸臨終處境後的生者，卻鮮為人所關注與探討，特別是承受照顧壓力及喪親悲痛照顧者而言，照戶經驗對個人生命價值之影響，在面臨死亡的課題中更顯重要.
本文從安寧照顧志工的服務經驗中，探索其對生命價值與人生意義之看法，據此提出三大研究問題：
安寧照顧志工選擇安寧照顧之動機及服務過程中與臨終者之互動歷程為何?
志工如何消化面對臨終情境的負面的情緒，如死亡焦慮或死亡恐懼?
在接觸瀕死者經驗後，志工自覺心境上有何轉變，對生命的體悟及生活上的實踐為何?
研究法採質性研究中的詮釋學與建構論觀點，訪談8位在安寧照顧領域服務一年以上之志工. 發現志工參與安寧照顧服務之動機多元，其中宗教信仰更為不可或缺之因素. 除外，臨終關懷下的助人歷程，漸從工具性陪伴進而對病人靈魂的撫慰，進而對生命有所反思，達到對生死問題的悟解.
鑑此，提出幾項建議
一. 就組織面：加強安寧志工之網絡支持系統連結，包括非正式同儕支持系統的運作. 正式督導系統的落實.
二. 社工專業方面：加強社工行政與機構管理方面的能力，包括作業指引(Guideline) 的建立. 安寧志工管理方案的規劃.
三. 社會宣導方面：包括加強社會大眾對安寧療護的正確認知推展，志工及安寧團隊成員死亡教育之必要性
[摘要]
The purpose of this research is to study the life value and the viewpoint on life meanings from the service experiences of the volunteers on hospice palliative care. According this purpose，we address three major research questions:
(1)What’s the motive for the volunteer to choose the hospice palliative care and how is the interactive course of the volunteer with those
people at the point of death during service period?
(2) How does the volunteer digest their negative feelings while facing the situation at the point of death, such as anxious or feared about death?
(3)Is any change on the conscious mood of the volunteer and what’s their appreciation on life and practices in life after contacting with those people on the verge of death?
The method of this research adopts the concept of hermeneutics and constructivism from the qualitative research. We interview eight volunteers totally，who has served in the hospice palliative care field for more one
year. After organizing and analyzing，we find that the motive of the volunteer for participating hospice palliative care service is diversified，among which the religious belief is the most essential reason. Besides, the process in helping people on the verge of death is gradually transferred from instrumental accompanying to consoling the patient’s soul，and further from introspection on life to comprehension on the issue of life and death.
Policy and practice Recommeddations have been employed：
1. On the organization level：To enhance the supportive system chain on the web of the hospice care volunteer，including the operation of the informal peer supportive system and the workable practice of the formal monitor system.
2. For the specialty of the social worker：To enhance the administrative ability of the social worker and the management ability of the organization，including the establishment of the guideline and the programming of the hospice care volunteer management project.
3. On the aspect of the social propaganda：To enhance the correct knowledge of the public on the hospice palliative care and to develop the necessary death education of the volunteer and the member of the hospice care team.
