In terms of four aspects, the paper compares the differences between the epistemologies of Buddhism and Zhuangzi. Zhuangzi said that when a person thinks about the world,he should not think and judge the world subjectively but move beyond the relativity; then he will be able to see the truth. Buddhism said if a person understands the world through the prajnaparamita wisdom,he would find out that he does not exist and that his judgment of the world is meaningless. In this way,he can see the meanings of dao in Buddhism. This idea is what they have in common. From his relative pointof view,Zhuangzi turned away from relativism to nihilism, seeing the world as meaningless. The Buddhist theory of conditional causation draws attention to the empty and the existing,so Buddhists think that a person should make use of their wisdom to make some contribution for people. This is the difference between the two theories.
