| 摘要 | This is a study of the obscure San-Chieh movement of Sui and T'ang dynasty Chinese Buddhism，usually called heretical and repeatedly suppressed by Chinese governments. The book uses texts from the Tun-Huang caves to reconstruct the sect's history and social context，challenging some long-accepted views and illuminating a complex era in the development of East Asian Buddhism. |
