| 摘要 | The greatest number of the aged are in the range of 65-74 yr olds. In general they showed a low educational level. Aged of the urban area had a 94. 7% unemployment rate，whereas 62. 9% of the aged of rural areas held farming jobs. Most were believers in Buddhism. The aged of urban and rural areas spent most of their time doing housework，watching television and chatting with their friends. There were a greater number of the aged females than aged males and also there were a greater number of the aged of rural areas (83. 3%) living with their offspring than the aged of urban areas (77. 0%). About half (49. 4%) of the aged of urban and rural areas showed non-specific physical complaints. Musculoskeletal problems were the most frequent complaint. Depression was the most frequent disorder among the aged persons and the aged males of urban areas suffered from depression most frequently. |
