| 摘要 | The article puts forward the view that the Paticcasamuppada in its 'usual' formulation with twelve Nidanas could not be the product of one mind，particularly the Buddha's. To support this view，texts are cited from the Pali canon，and these show different formulations of the Paticcasamuppada, some of which must be earlier than the 'usual' formulation. Other texts are noted which describe the Buddha's enlightenment without mention of the Paticcasamuppada, thus showing that there were different traditions concerning the Buddha's life：a fundamental argument against a fundamentalist approach to the Buddhist texts! |
