| 摘要 | This article argues for a humanistic ethical orientation. It argues that "ethics of vicissitude" (e.g.，stoicism and original Buddhism) are predicated on a mistaken pre-technological mentality，positing the self as the only variable amenable to ethical control. It argues against "ethics of heteronomy" (e.g.，Christianity and other theisms) which are based on the mistaken premise that man is the ward of another and must discern and do the other's will to be moral. Humanism，or the ethics of human autonomy (and control)，takes man as the source，center，and principle end of ethics and makes him fully responsible temporally and terrestrially for his present and future. |
