| 摘要 | In this Derrida on the Mend and On Deconstructing Life- Worlds：
Buddhism，Christianity，Culture，Robert Magliola deals with the most
elucidating issues involved in the comparative study of deconstruction
and Buddhism，especially his study of the affinities and differences
between Derridean deconstruction and Nagarjuna's Madhyamika. For all the
efforts he has made，Magliola has been revealing an important message for
the cultural/religious/philosophical studies of the East-West in the
postmodern era; that is, the East may instruct the West in the postmodern
moment. As indicated in his "Transformation Theory and Postcolonial
Discourse：Jung by Lacan by Derrida (bar Sinister Descent)," Magliola
predicts that "Western philosophy (at least) will eventually receive en
masse from the Orient -- simply because what others have already called
the 'postmodern moment in philosophy' is upon us...，the postmodern moment
seems best served by Hindu and Buddhist philosophy" (Critical Studies
245-46). On the basis of some common grounds Magliola has built up in his
study of the interconnection between Derridean deconstruction and
Nagarjuna's Madhyamika, this paper will study Jacques Lacan's theory of
the subject (with a special emphasis on the order of the real) and Buddhist
concept of subject and psychology and to demonstrate how the oriental
self/other can be of great significance in establishing an enlightening
and constructive dialogue with the occidental self/other. |
