| 摘要 | Human beings at present is facing a crisis of global dimension. The crisis of survival of the poorest of the poor，unemployment，imbalance economic condition，injustice and possibly war for the rest of the people. The values and collective action based on social and religious values have a crucial role to play. The so-called development which is leading to misdevelopment has created a different economics values which can turn crisis into catastrophe. There is an urgent need to create a positive humane social and cultural transformation.
Buddhist education has become one of the hope to respond the need of the present situation to pull humanity out of the syndrome of breakdown and chaos. The Buddhist communities with their rich and still powerful historical and cultural heritage have much to offer not only for themselves but for the entire human community of the globe.
In many Buddhist countries, concerned community leaders are applying the teachings of the Buddha to present day social problems. Buddhism is not exclusively a monastic tradition.
It is also for the lives of people and society. Buddhist teachings are useful to analyse and understand social structures. Buddhist principles can improve society's management of development，economics, education，environment，technology，business family and community life. Materialism，a gift of modern civilization has cultivated Capitalism and socialism，Buddhist can make most essential contribution and can provide answer to this challenges. |
