| 摘要 | The article discusses some important aspects of the problem of religious conversion in Indian context and argues that in the present context religious conversion is not merely a matter of wrong application but is also that of wrong direction，content and very conception of it. Clarifying certain confusion and misunderstandings, conversion from Hinduism to Islam and Christianity on the one hand and those to Buddhism，Jainism，Sikhism on the other are distinguished. It has been argued that important academic and extra-academic arguments to justify religious conversion fail to do so. |
