| 摘要 | The writers recount the history of tea. Tea drinking began with Chinese Buddhist monks and aristocracy and became widely popular by the end of the Han dynasty in the fourth century. It probably came to Japan with the Buddhist monks and，as in China, grew apace with Buddhism. By the middle of the 16th century，Europeans were having their interest in tea kindled by writers who were promoting trade with the Orient. Tea drinking had become well established in the American colonies by the mid 18th century. |
