| 摘要 | A Korean painting in the Collin de Plancy collection，now in the Musee Guimet in Paris, came from Konbongsa temple and dates from 1755. The painting depicts the theme of ambrosia--"Amrta-raja"--another name for the Buddha Amida, and refers to the cult celebrated on the "day of the festival of souls." Featuring an iconography that combines ancestor cult with the theme of the three worlds, it illustrates a subject that was particularly in vogue during the Yi dynasty. It highlights the revival of Buddhism under King Yongjo (1724-1776) and constitutes a scenic portrayal of Choson Korea. It displays real aesthetic concern and painterly talent，and it contributes to an understanding of the emergence of the genre painting typical of 18th-century Korea in the time of Kim Hongdo or Shin Yunbok. |
