| 摘要 | Sino-Tibetan sculpture is discussed. Yuang and Ming rulers were introduced to the form of Buddhism practiced by Tibetan lamas, and the third Ming emperor Chengzu--who reigned from 1403 to 1424--actively courted Tibetan hierarchs, who sent him gifts of Buddhist bronzes, presumably the first in the Yongle style. Inscriptions report that later in the mid 15th century，private commissions for Buddhist sculptures were commonly arranged，with a relaxation of textual strictures creating images more suitable to conventional Chinese tastes. The imperial style of the rulers persisted，but a people's style also emerged，with such features as the Yongle necklace and related jewelry decorating Chinese deities that could have come from a village temple. |
