| 摘要 | An overview of historic sites in the Korean area of Chongup. Most of the historical relics found in the area date from the Koryo Dynasty (918-1392) or from the Choson Dynasty (1392-1910). Sites range from the Ch'on-goksa Temple in Tokch'on-myon，which features a seven-story pagoda from the Koryo period，to the entrance to the village of Mokyok-ri，which features three chimdae or sotdae，wooden poles topped with images of flying ducks. In addition，most Buddhist relics in the area represent a curious mixture of Buddhism and shamanism，which the common people treated as sacred sites for supplication to the gods. The area also offers many traces of traditional agricultural society in the form of tiled- and thatched-roof houses. |
