The many religions of the world bring diverse,and occasionally divergent,attitudes to bioethical issues. These beliefs often guide patients and health professionals in the health care setting. To further understanding of religious beliefs in our pluralistic and global society,this annotated bibliography identifies literature by major religious groups on topics in bioethics including:attitudes to health and health care,physician- patient relationship,treatment refusal,abortion,contraception,sterilization,reproductive technologies, genetics, mental health, human experimentation,organ transplantation and donation,death, euthanasia, suicide,and prolongation of life. Religions covered in Part One of Scope Note 25,include African religious healing,Baha'i,Buddhism,Confucianism,Hinduism,Islam,Jainism,Judaism.
