| 摘要 | Both being and nonbeing are eternal，conflicting drives in the universe. If eternal，neither can be given priority over the other. Tillich is incorrect in giving the priority to being and the Buddhist is in error in granting priority to nothingness. Also，the universe is neither friendly nor hostile; it is indifferent. Eros and Thanatos are surface manifestations of the ontological nature of existence. In the encounter with the power of nonbeing，a person will need both courage and love to be. |
