| 摘要 | Both being and nonbeing are eternal，conflicting drives in the universe. If eternal，neither can be given priority over the other. Tillich is incorrect in giving the priority to being; the Buddhist is in error in granting priority to nothingness. Also，the universe is neither friendly nor hostile; it is indifferent. Eros and Thanatos are surface manifestations of the ontological nature of existence. In the encounter with nonbeing，a person will need both courage and love to be. |
