Abstract In the Buddhist Texts boz denoted a texile suitable for the writting of Buddhist texts and painting pictures of Buddhist figures. As we learn from these texts , boz is woven on a loom with woof and warp. lt can even be used for making clothing for the Buddha , Bod- hisattvas , monks , etc. Therefore , boz must have been a highly valuable cloth. When the Uighur text is translated 白 (white cloth) . When the Uighur translator uses boz then we must assume that in the translator’s opinion boz denoted a kind of valuable cloth during Uighur times. lt was also suitable as a gift given by distinguished people to people of a similar social status.
