摘要Compassion, wisdom, and being at-ease have a greater chance of arising when we pay attention to what we are presently experiencing. As education opens minds, Zen is the epitome of facilitating mind-opening. Education in Heidegger's sense of "letting one learn," is carried a step further in Zen. When asked,"What is Zen?",Inayat Khan tells the story of a fish who goes to the queen fish and asks, "I have always heard about the sea. What is the sea? Where is the sea?" The queen fish replies:"You live, move, and have your being in the sea. The sea is within you and you are made of sea, and you will end in sea. The sea surrounds you as your own being."
