| 摘要 | The majority of Japanese do not consider themselves religious. However, the japanese always have been religious. Buddhism influenced the Japanese culture. Even after the installation of separation of religions and the state, many people still consider Shinto as the national religion. Because of the country's historical background, religions emerged in people's lives so closely that people do not realize that they are religious. In Japanese schools, there is a subject called "Dotoku." In English, it means values, morals, and mottoes. Most of Dotoku is consisted of traditional religious teachings. Dotoku always has been an integral part of the Japanese culture. However, after the collapse of the Bubble Economy, these morals became less valued. Today, people realize that education is the key to solve the problems which are happening after the Bubble Economy. The Japanese government started taking steps toward better educational system. |
