| 摘要 | Tracks is a collection of poetry that has arisen from the experiences of my life. It encompasses not only my cloistered beginnings and stumbling growth, but also my emergent sense of self and growing desire to look outward. The poems focus on three main areas: my experience (and the psychological vestiges thereof) growing up in a broken family in a small East Texas town, my connection with nature and place, and my attempts to empathize with people facing difficult circumstances. The writing is heavily influenced by my interests in psychology, Buddhism, and the environment, each of which has facilitated the self-reflection that is invaluable to me as a poet. Although the themes of this collection appear disparate, they have merged along the path of my life. I hope to convey the complexity of that path in a manner that moves beyond mere self-analysis and resonates with readers of all backgrounds. |
