Being a poet well-know for his diction and emotion, Li Shanguin has a close relationship with Buddhism. His worship of Buddhism is enhanced gradually with the experience of reading and his indulgence in this religion. He came to a good understanding of Buddhist doctrine, such as "everything is full of impermanece and hardship", and gained extrincation to certain degree by menas of deep meditation-"the only effective way to take". However, Li Shanguin was not a devoted follower of Buddhism, because he could only see the impermanence and could not grasp the essence of Buddhism and extricate from the heart.
