摘要
A brief account of the history of Buddhism in Vietnam precedes a description of the pryaers, sutras, and mantras recited by the Bonzes in three daily offices; the nine principal characteristics of the tung (prayer recitation) and those of the tan (chant); the difference between instruments used for sacred and for lay Buddhism; and the characteristic scales, modes, melodies, rhythms, and polyphony of these instruments.
