| 摘要 | The philosopher Shuzo Kuki points out the close relationship between chance and the feeling of surprise. If this is applied to music，Paul Griffiths's classification of chance techniques does not seem sufficiently developed，especially when compared with the work carried out in 1976 by Susumu Shono (Ongakugaku，vol. 22/23). Shono takes examples from Cage and his notion of zero time and links them with the feeling of surprise. This notion can be compared with the Japanese psychiatrist Bin Kimura's concept of time intra festum，a state of psychosis or illness in which one is aware only of the present moment. This state，which occurs in amorous exaltation or in Zen enlightenment，is related to chance music and to the endeavors of Cage，Reich, and Jo Kondo. |
