| 摘要 | Transmission of the ritual music of Tibetan Buddhism occurs via oral tradition and via various types of notation preserved in special handbooks compiled in the major monasteries. The principal styles of notation are described as these relate to the singing voice，percussion，and instruments into which one whistles (conch shell，trumpets, oboes)，drawing on primary sources collected by the author since the 1970s. |
