| 摘要 | An interview with Cage that took place in Angers on 7 December 1984,on the occasion of an exhibition of his visual art. The discussion centered on the following themes:the relationship in his works between chance and discipline, determinacy and freedom of interpretation, spirituality and individuality, his past endeavors in painting, his graphic notations for music that led to the establishment of a new system of notation where "the space on the paper is equivalent to time",his relationships with other painters (notably Marcel Duchamp),and the connections between the plastic arts and music. He emphasizes the importance that he attributes to Zen. |
