| 摘要 | Traditional Western attempts to ascribe specific meaning to music are refuted. The purpose of music is to prepare the mind for divine influence (Thomas Mace，1676). The Zen Buddhist concepts of K'ung (emptiness)，uji (unique moment) and wu-wei (spontaneous action) form the basis of formal analysis. |
