| 摘要 | In historical descriptions of Japanese music, considerable attention is focused on myths, legends, and narratives -- which Western scholars freely accept, often without criticism. Older sources are usually considered more reliable and important. However,in Osaka, where a rational school of thought predominated,Tominaga Nakamoto (1716-46) postulated a different theory for source criticism, considering that the more recent of the sutras should be considered to be the more genuine tradition of the Buddha's instruction. He called this phenomenon kajo and explained it in his book Shutsujo-gogo (Osaka, 1745). |
