| 摘要 | The Qinglong Temple as one of the famous temple in the Tang city of Chang’an. It was located in the southeastern corner of the Xinchangfang Block in the city and had an area of 132, 500 sq m accounting for one fourth of the total area of the block. Overall explorations discovered the sites of a stupa, two halls, middle gates, winding corridors and enclosing walls. These remains belong to the buildings of two separate Buddhistic courts. In the middle of the northern side of the temple was found the site of the northern gate of the temple. Excavation of these sites brought to light that the ruins of an earlier date were covered by those of a later date. The earlier sites are left from the Linggansi Temple constructed in the years when the Sui Dynasty first built the city of Daxing. It was renamed Qinglongsi Temple in the Tang Dynasty, which was pulled down in the 5th year of the Hui Chang reign of Emperor Wu Zong (845 AD) and rebuilt in the following year on the old site.Among the relics unearthed, besides large quantities of bricks and tiles, there are broaze Buddha statuettes and many fragments of stone-carved Buddha statues, a section of the broken stone stand of a stone lamp. On the section of the stand are engraved the texts of two Buddhistic scriptures: Fo Shuo Shi Deng Gong De ding (《佛說施燈功德經》 and Fo Ding Zun Sheng Tuo Luo N (《佛頂尊勝陀羅尼》). Below the sutras were engraved the date of the building of the lamp and the name of the person who donated the lamp: ’The 5th year of the Da He reign (831 AD); DuWenxiu.. built this lamp on the 8th day of the first moon.’ The excavation of the temple providesnew knowledge of the design and construction of Buddhist temples before and during the Tang Dynasty. |
