The account is based on the source material with little admixture of modern critical commentary. The book ends with a defense of karma. One point she makes is that "if immortality cannot be proved，it cannot be disproved either." Finally，she says, "of all freedom，highest is the freedom of the self from its own bondage and passions and desire; this has been the message of India and is the essence of all her moral thought." |
