| 摘要 | In this article i try to show three things. first，that there is a similarity between the analysis of the self in theravada buddhism and in the philosophy of david hume. second，that there is also a difference in that buddhist analysis is a normative project toward a religious end，while hume's concern is an empirical one toward an epistemological end. third，that buddhism avoids the basic problems that plagued hume in his concept of the self. |
