Sinaris' thesis is that Indian philosophy is basically inner-directed,rooted in Vedic thought and transphenomenal, however the varied ways this has been developed historically,e.g.,in the "darsanas". He quickly examines these themes in traditional Vedanta (Sankara),Nyaya, Madhyamika, and Vedanta Buddhism,Jainism and modern figures since the eighteenth century. Sources are referred to in notes. |
