摘要
From my own ethnographic research on the lives of Chinese women who attended an American missionary school during the 1920s and 1930s, I understand the value of collecting the stories of ordinary people. This workshop will teach participants ethnographic methods of retrieving and recording oral histories. Although there are a few biographies of eminent Buddhist nuns, the lives and experiences of other nuns worldwide have not been systematically recorded. This interactive workshop will provide basic practical skills that can be utilized anywhere to record a nun’s own story or to record the story of another.
