| 摘要 | In Pali literature, one finds reference to many eminent women. There are many bhikshunis who practice and spread the Buddhadhamma and there are references to laywomen who practice while living the household life. Visakha, known as the Miggar Mata, was the most excellent of laywomen and became very famous. Looking at Vishakha’s life, all would leave inspired. She had a family and, at the same time, made tremendous contributions to the Dhamma. Her inspirational life led her family and many others to convert to Buddhism. Vishakha was born in the kingdom of Magadha and both her parents were disciples of Sakyamuni Buddha. She had deep faith in the Buddha, which continued after her marriage to the son of Miggar, a merchant from Sravasti. Early in her marriage, she experienced many obstacles, but due to her great devotion to the Buddha, she was able to overcome them all. She became highly acclaimed for her generosity and her wisdom. Her life of devotion to the Buddha and the Sangha continues to inspire women even today. 巴利文文獻中，高尚女性修行例子比比皆是。有比丘尼(出家女眾)修行並弘揚佛法，也有在家女眾一面修行一面過在家生活。Visakha, 也就是大家熟知的 Miggar Matta，不但出名，也是女性修行的典範。對每個人來說，瞭解她的故事都能獲得啟發。她過著在家人的生活，同時卻也傳播佛法，對佛教貢獻良多。不但使她家人，也使其它許多人都改信佛教。今日她的故事仍然使我們獲益良多。 Visakha的父母都是釋迦牟尼佛的弟子。在她嫁給來自Sravasti的商人Miggar的兒子後，仍深深信仰佛教。先生的家人都是耆那教聖徒Nighatta的追隨者。Nighatta與其五百耆那教弟子都參加她們的婚禮。Vishakha必須歡迎他們到來，並恭敬地對待他們。Miggar叫媳婦Visakha和兒子去接受聖徒的祝福。但是當Visakha看到Nighatta與其耆那教弟子都是全裸來到婚禮，基於禮節，她臉上露出不悅表情，沒有和他們打招呼轉身就走。這些外道聖徒們覺得自己遭到Visakha的羞辱，即使Miggar向他們道歉，他們還是生氣地離開。 於是這個家庭的信任開始瓦解。最後，Miggar召集當時社會上有頭有臉人物與Vishakha的父母。要求他們對Vishakha罪行定罪。Vishakha被帶到一個集會堂，她仍冷靜地向眾人致意。對每項指控，她都回答得很仔細審慎並充滿愛心。所以在場的每位成員都站在她那邊。眾人都稱讚Vishakha充滿智慧。聆聽她如何好好過著在家生活。頓時Miggar對她的誤解也消失地無影無蹤。 就在那時，Vishakha要求她的公公去邀請佛陀和出家眾來受供。她公公Miggar不但同意，也改信佛教，並且很感激Vishakha，尊稱她Miggar Matta。 佛陀也頌揚她的美德。說她胸襟很大很高貴。當時Vishakha就因心量大，有智慧和深信佛陀而名滿天下。爭端一起，Vishakha就會提出有用的建言，使雙方互相了解並和平相處。 這篇報告，末學將向諸位大德訴說Vishakha的故事，並介紹她的教法。因為當時，只要認識她的人都會受到啟發。甚至直到今日，我們生活在有別當時的世界上，她的話語也會讓我們獲得啟發和利益。 |
