| 摘要 | 本論文主要是研究《大唐西域記》的本生故事，以此探討釋迦牟尼佛成佛的因素。《大唐西域記》為唐代高僧玄奘法師所作，除了敘述有關佛教大小乘諸部傳播之實情外，舉凡地理、風俗、語言、傳說、產業、政治等，也都有詳細之記載，是一部綜合宗教、地理、歷史之巨作。裡面記載的本生故事，不僅內容曲折生動有趣，而且言簡意賅含義深遠，頗能引起讀者之共鳴。這些皆是敘述釋尊未成佛之前，行菩薩道的美德懿行，其中蘊含菩薩的思想與修行，足堪大眾之借鏡。本文共分六章：第一章提出筆者的研究動機與目的，再列舉前人的文獻資料，最後說明本文的研究範圍與方法。第二章對《大唐西域記》的背景做個交代，先介紹作者玄奘大師的生平，再敘述《大唐西域記》的成書因緣以及內容組織架構。第三章界定本生的意義，並說明本生與因緣、本事、譬喻的關係，並探討本生所涵蓋的菩薩思想。第四章統計本生故事的數量並分析結構，其次依示現身分來區別類型，然後與其他有相關類型故事的經典作比對分析。第五章先略述佛陀的一生，再針對六波羅蜜的修行內涵與本生故事做個連結分析，探討佛陀因地的偉大菩薩行。第六章依獨特性、思想以及佛法三方面，對本文做個總結，並提出另類思考的方向。 This study investigates the stories of Buddha’s previous incarnations in the “Buddhist Records of the Western World during the Great Tang Dynasty” (TA-TANG-SI-YU-KI) which is narrated by Xuanzang Master. It probes into the factors of how Sakyamuni Buddha became the true Buddha. The Records discuss the diffusion of the Mahayana and Hinayana among the peoples, and it shed light on a various aspects such as geography, culture, language, myth, industry and politics. Therefore, this book is a master piece of religion, geogrphy, and history. This book included the vivid life story of Sakyamuni Buddha, and not only is it inspirational but it also strikes the chord of every individual. Before Sakyamuni Buddha became a true Buddah, his virtue in practice of Bodhisattva and his idea should be a perfect model for everyone. This paper is dived into six chapters. The first chapter encompasses the motivation of this research, literature review, the area of research, and research method. The second chapter illustrates the background of “Buddhist Records of the Western World”. It describes the life of Xuanzang Master, the generation of this book, the content of the book, and the structure of this narrative. The third chapter defines the meaning of Jataka and interpretes the relation that bounds Jataka, Nidana, Itivrttaka, Avadana. And it also explores the thoughts of the Bodhisattva in the previous lives of the Buddha. The fourth chapter calculates the number of story on Jataka and analyzes the structure of the stories. These stories are categorized with a various forms of the life and compared to other similar classic stories. The fifth chapter briefly recounts the life history of Buddha. It discusses the Buddha’s practice of Bodhisattva and analyzes connection between the practice of Six Paramitas and Jataka. The sixth chapter is concluded with uniqueness, thought and dharma, and it offers an alternative reflection on Buddha dharma. |
