| 摘要 | This paper explores the practices and teachings of Buddhism and how Buddhist wisdom, when merged with modern psychological insights, can provide a powerful platform for psychological healing and development. Specifically, the author will provide a brief overview of Buddhist theory as well as examine the therapeutic potential of Buddhist meditation and mindfulness. The author will also discuss the inclusion of spirituality in Transpersonal Psychology, specifically the concepts of non-duality, intrinsic health, and self-transcendence which parallel many of the Buddhist teachings. Finally, the author will conclude by suggesting that Buddhism's greatest psychological potential lies in the Buddha's fundamental teachings on compassion. - Author's abstract. |
