After two decades as a research chemist, Dick Dunphy finds himself an unemployed widower with a teenage son. Starting over, he completes law school, passes the bar, and takes the oath. He isn't much of a people person, however, and is having some trouble establishing a practice.Then Dunphy's neighbor Dotty arrives at his house in a flurry, barely clad, announcing that she needs a lawyer because she has just found her husband, Danny, with a bullet in his head. Dunphy reluctantly takes her as a client, but is replaced the next day. He's pissed-even if he didn't want to do the job, he needed the money.But then Dunphy gets hired by the FBI as a consultant on the case, and that's when things get interesting, especially when Dunphy meets the beautiful Agent Tanabe. An entanglement of false identity, government agencies, and murder, this is a not-to-be-missed adventure.
