| 摘要 | Thangkas are Tibetan Buddhist paintings in which deities are depicted along axes in strict accordance with Buddhist scripture. The Hahn Cultural Foundation and Hwajeong Museum have extensive collections of these treasures of Tibetan Buddhist art, among which the most important works are featured in the publication of Art of Thangka: Vols. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The pieces included were personally chosen by Dr.Kimiaki Tanaka, a noted historian of Tibetan Buddhism and academic advisor to the Hahn Cultural Foundation. In each volume of the series, 100 thangkas are classified by subject and discussed in meticulous detail. Two versions of the books are published: one with Korean and English text, and a separate version with Japanese and English text. |
